Patti Nielson
I am writing to share my background and interest in continuing my service to the Avondale community. Since relocating here in 2018 and completing the Avondale Citizens Academy, I have been deeply committed to city initiatives and civic engagement.
For the past six years, I have served on the Avondale Parks and Recreation Board, contributing to projects such as the Aquatics Center, Mountain View Recreation Center, and Donatella Park. My involvement also includes serving as a liaison to the Avondale Library System, participating in Interfaith Partnership meetings, and attending various city groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting events. Additionally, I have volunteered for six years with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Professionally, I bring over 40 years of experience as a registered nurse, with a career spanning emergency care, rehabilitation, quality assurance, and case management. On a personal level, caring for my aging mother has provided me with a firsthand understanding of the unique needs facing families, caregivers, and seniors in our community.
I look forward to the possibility of further contributing to the growth and well-being of Avondale.
Best regards,
Patti Nielson

Ramon Sanchez
For Ramon Sanchez, Avondale is more than a city, it's home. It's where he rented his first apartment, purchased his first home, and continues to raise his family.
Over the years, Ramon has served as a volunteer youth coach, City Ambassador, Sustainability Commissioner, and active community volunteer. A graduate of the Avondale Citizens Academy, Police Citizens Academy, and Water Academy, he believes the best decisions are made by listening, learning, and staying connected to the people who call Avondale home.
Ramon is committed to helping preserve the safe neighborhoods, strong sense of community, and quality of life that make Avondale a great place to live and raise a family.
